Onehunga One Tree Hill Rotary’s role in this project was to provide funding to support the Santo Rotary Club in Vanuatu in completing this project. The funding was supplemented by a Global Grant from The Rotary Foundation.
This is the first project of this nature that we have done with contractors rather than direct supervision from the club.
The project entails a water collection roof which doubles as a classroom, which supplies water for the village and the sanitation system is a 40,000 litre septic tank system which is connected to four flushing toilet stalls.
This project was started in late December 2020 and was completed by mid February 2021. The grand opening was held over the weekend of 13th and 14th February. Members of the Santo Club attended and Onehunga One Tree Hill Rotary was represented by Assistant Governor Rufino Pineda.
